Volunteers Assisting Seniors

Saving Hundreds of Lives with Devotion and Compassion

As FRIENDS Director of Jewish Senior Life, my heart is overcome with faith and joy as so many community members have volunteered to assist JSL residents during this global pandemic. We have volunteers sewing masks for our 800+ residents and front line staff; we have volunteers picking up curbside groceries and medications for residents who cannot leave their apartments; we have young children making art projects whose parents scan and email to me - JSL staff distribute to residents and their days are immediately brighter! We have volunteers who are pen pals, writing to residents; and sunshine callers who are phoning residents a few times a week to check in and make a new friend. Collectively, our community has saved hundreds of lives with their devotion and compassion - and we're always looking for more loving volunteers to join our family.
